We are so happy to welcome a new master student, Chang Xu, in Summer 2017. Let us hear what he said about his research and MCL.
1. Could you briefly introduce yourself and your research interests?
My name is Chang Xu, I am a graduate student at USC pursuing Electrical Engineering Degree. I used to study Automation in my undergraduate study. However, after I learned something relate to data science and machine learning, I found that I love to pursue machine learning path to do something for the data. I have passion for learning computer languages like, C++ and python and love applying what I have learned in electrical engineering into practice by some projects.
2. What is your impression about MCL and USC?
I have already been in USC for a year. I love the environment and academic atmosphere here. USC has best professors in the world and enough research resources for students. The MCL is a community of passionate and intelligent students who pursue their research relate to communication and data. I love talking to people in MCL because I can learn a lot of knowledge every time.
3. What is your future expectation and plan in MCL?
To be honest, after taking the course EE569, I love convolutional neural network and machine learning. I want to learn more about them and apply them into some real practice. I hope I can get familiar with how to conduct real research and get to know the fantastic parts of academic life.
